For example, one study looked at cigarette smokers who wanted to quit the habit. Smokers were given inhalers with either CBD or a placebo vape cartridge. They were instructed to use the inhaler every time they had the urge to smoke. 

The study found that in the course of a week, the CBD users had cut back their cigarette consumption by about 40%. On the other hand, those with the placebo had no reduction in cigarette consumption. 

The researchers in the study believe that the way CBD interacts with the CB1 receptor may be the reason it helps. They believe that it may reduce the boosting properties of nicotine. 

Can I quit smoking using CBD?
