Tired? Try a CBD Recipe for Sleep

Sleep troubles are not uncommon. In fact, a Consumer Reports survey once found that 27% of U.S. adults had trouble sleeping most nights. Another 68% said they struggled with sleep at least once a week.

That’s a lot of missed rest.

If you’re fed up with not getting the rest you need, it may be worth trying CBD for sleep. After all, a 2019 Consumer Reports survey found nearly 10% of Americans who have used CBD have taken it to improve sleep. The majority of respondents said it worked.

There are plenty of ways to take CBD for sleep. You can take tinctures, oils, and capsules, and more. Incorporating CBD into your nighttime routine is a good way to wind down and ease your way into a restful night.

That’s why we suggest trying a CBD recipe for sleep. It’s an immersive way to take your CBD and allows you to add other sleep-promoting ingredients. We’ll show you some easy-to-make concoctions to add to your CBD recipe book.

Cherry juice and CBD drink

This recipe comes from Healthline. It utilizes the sleep-promoting benefits of tart cherries, which are rich in melatonin. Alongside CBD, this drink should be enough to get you to hit the hay.

Ingredients:

  • One cup of tart cherry juice
  • One cup of white grape juice
  • Your preferred CBD oil dose
  • Optional: ½ dropper of valerian root tincture

If you have valerian root tincture, it’s worth adding to this CBD recipe for sleep. It’s been used to promote sleep for a long time and many people find it to be useful. However, it’s not a crucial ingredient in this CBD recipe.

To make the drink, just stir all of the ingredients together in a glass and enjoy it before bed.

Almond butter and banana toast with CBD

Almonds are another source of melatonin, which is a sleep-regulating hormone. They’re a great snack on their own before bed but can also be taken to the next level as a before-bed snack. Add some bananas, a source of tryptophan and magnesium (two more sleep-promoting compounds) and CBD and you’ve got a recipe for success.

Plus, making this CBD-infused version of almond butter and banana toast is super easy.

Ingredients:

  • Two slices of bread
  • Almond butter
  • One banana
  • Your preferred CBD oil dose

Steps:

Toast the bread to your preference. Add a scoop of peanut butter to a small cup or bowl and drop your preferred CBD oil dose in. Stir the two ingredients until well mixed.

Spread the almond butter and CBD oil mixture on to the toast, and top with slices of banana. For an extra kick, add a sprinkle of cinnamon before eating.

Nighttime CBD golden milk

This recipe is adapted from a golden milk recipe by the Well Plated blog. It’s easy to make and incredibly soothing for a good night’s sleep.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • 1 ½ teaspoons almond butter
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric
  • ⅛ tsp ground ginger
  • Your preferred CBD oil dose

Mix the almond butter with your preferred CBD dose in a bowl or cup until thoroughly mixed. Then add all of the ingredients to a small saucepan. Heat over medium until hot but not boiling. Be sure to stir frequently to prevent sticking or burning. Pour into a glass and enjoy your nighttime drink.
